A pathosformel da agressão

A survey of the iconographic sources of Aby Warburg's Atlas Mnemosyne leads to the Mithraeum of the Basilica of San Clemente al Laterano in Rome. At the Basilica, we see reliefs with the image of Mithras sacrificing a bull, identified as the pathosformel of aggression in the Panel 8 of the Atlas. With Fritz Saxl, we associate this image with the formula of the bent knee, presenting its transfigurations until contemporary times, in scenes of racial violence, but also, paradoxically, in the gestures of anti-racist protests. The phenomenon can be explained through the Warburguian concept of pathosformel, especially in its aspect of dynamic inversion, polarization and depolarization of the image.Uma pesquisa sobre as fontes iconográficas do Atlas Mnemosyne que pretende compreender o olhar de historiador da arte de Aby Warburg leva ao mitreu da Basílica de San Clemente al Laterano em Roma. No local encontram-se relevos com a imagem do mitra tauróctono, identificada na Prancha 8 do Atlas como a pathosformel da agressão. Com Fritz Saxl associamos essa imagem com a fórmula do joelho dobrado, elencando suas transfigurações até a contemporaneidade, em cenas de violência racial, mas também, paradoxalmente, nos gestos de protestos antirracistas. O fenômeno pode ser explicado através do conceito warburguiano de pathosformel, especialmente no seu aspecto de inversão dinâmica, polarização e despolarização da imagem
