The objective of this thesis is to improve the numerical schemes based on staggered meshes used for the simulation of problems from fluid mechanics and to extend them to very general meshes while guaranteeing their validity for different flow regimes (incompressible or compressible). Particular attention is paid to the convection and diffusion operators of the momentum balance equation. Their discretizations are developed in such a way as to be valid for different types of cells, including particular three-dimensional cells such as prismatic or pyramidal cells.The discrete momentum convection operator is of finite volume type.
