Rendimiento académico en la educación superior: UAEMex Valle de Teotihuacán

The objective of the research is to evaluate the influence of cognitive abilities, the social construction of learning and values attitudes on the academic performance of the students who entered one of the six higher education programs offered by the UAEM Valle de Teotihuacan.Academic performance is a relevant indicator not only for evaluating the development of technical skills and aptitudes of students but also for the fulfillment of objectives and goals set by Higher Education Institutions and, an interinstitutional frame of reference.A multimethod methodology is used under an exploratory, descriptive correlational scope and a field research with the students who completed the first year of studies. Stresses the importance that students attach to the social construction of learning followed by evaluative attitudes; finally, strategies are proposed to the institution to improve the results obtained.El objetivo de la investigación es evaluar la influencia de las habilidades cognitivas, la construcción social del aprendizaje y las actitudes valorativas en el rendimiento académico de los estudiantes que ingresaron a uno de los seis programas educativos de tipo superior que oferta el Centro Universitario UAEM Valle de Teotihuacán. El rendimiento académico es un indicador relevante no sólo para evaluar desarrollo de habilidades técnicas y aptitudes de los estudiantes también para el cumplimiento de objetivos y metas planteadas por las Instituciones de Educación Superior y, un marco referencial interinstitucional.Se utiliza una metodología multimétodo bajo un alcance exploratorio, descriptivo correlacional y una investigación de campo con los estudiantes que concluyeron el primer año de estudios. Destaca la importancia que los estudiantes otorgan a la construcción social del aprendizaje seguida de las actitudes valorativas; finalmente, se proponen estrategias a la instituciónpara mejorar los resultados obtenidos
