FORMULATION AND PHYSICAL PROPERTIES TESTS OF FACIAL WASH FROM OLIVE OIL AND NIACINAMIDE

Permasalahan pada kulit wajah yang sering terjadi disebabkan oleh radikal bebas. Radikal bebas dapat menimbulkan kerusakan sel berupa penuaan dini yang ditandai dengan kurangnya elastisitas pada kulit, muncul noda hitam, kulit tampak lebih kusam dan terdapat pigmentasi. Radikal bebas dapat ditangkap dengan pemberian antioksidan. Antioksidan merupakan molekul senyawa yang dapat melepaskan elektron dan menetralkan radikal bebas agar dapat mencegah terjadinya kerusakan sel. Bahan alam yang dapat digunakan untuk mengatasi penuaan dini salah satunya yaitu minyak zaitun. Minyak zaitun dipercaya dapat membantu mempertahankan kelembaban dan elastisitas kulit sekaligus memperlancar proses regenerasi kulit, sehingga kulit tidak mudah kering dan berkerut. Tujuan dari penelitian untuk mengetahui hasil uji sifat fisik sediaan facial wash minyak zaitun dan niacinamide serta menentukan formula yang tepat dan optimum pada kombinasi surfaktan antara sodium lauryl sulfat (SLS) dan cocamidopropyl betaine. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah eksperimental laboratorium dengan metode Simplex Lattice Design (SLD). Menurut hasil sifat fisik sediaan facial wash dari 8 formula memenuhi uji sifat fisik seperti organoleptis, homogenitas, pH, stabilitas busa, daya sebar dan viskositas yang memenuhi syarat menurut SNI. Berdasarkan hasil metode Simplex Lattice Design (SLD) sediaan facial wash minyak zaitun (olive oil) dan niacinamide memilikiformula optimum pada konsentrasi 0,75% SLS dan 0,25% cocamidopropyl betaine.Problems on facial skin that often occur are caused by free radicals. Free radicals can be counteracted by giving antioxidants. Antioxidants are molecular compounds that can release electrons and neutralize free radicals in order to prevent cell damage. One of the natural ingredients that can be used to treat premature aging is olive oil. Olive oil is believed to help maintain skin moisture and elasticity as well as expedite the skin regeneration process, so that the skin is not easily dry and wrinkled. The aim of the research was to determine the results of the physical properties test of olive oil and niacinamide facial wash preparations and to determine the right and optimum formula for the surfactant combination of sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS) and cocamidopropyl betaine. The type of research used is laboratory experimental with the Simplex Lattice Design (SLD) method. According to the results of the physical properties of the 8 formulas, the facial wash preparations met the physical properties tests such as organoleptic, homogeneity, pH, foam stability, spreadability and viscosity which met the requirements according to SNI.
