« Avoir » de l’autorité. Pour une approche clinique de l’autorité enseignante

International audienceStarting from the impasse of natural authority in the teaching relationship, this article concerns the "having" (or "being in") dimension of authority, that is to say the part of subjectivity that each teacher engages in it. The article aims at articulating the theoretical foundations of authority in teaching, through the deepening of the "having" or "being in" authority dimensions in a clinical and psychoanalytical perspective, and the repercussions on its effective exercise. The proposed clinical vignette shows how Sébastien strives to "have" or "be in" authority as a teacher, even though he values a posture of educator and maintains charismatic dependence relationships with his students. This highlights the importance of the function of third parties, which refers to the non-negotiable issues of the teaching authority and of the educational framework. Objects to study in training thus emerge: the relationships to this history, to oneself, to others, and to knowledge; "returning to" the figures of teachers who "inhabit" the trainee teacher.Partant des impasses de l’autorité naturelle dans la relation d’enseignement, cet article concerne la dimension « avoir » de l’autorité, c’est-à-dire la part de subjectivité que chaque professeur y engage. Il vise à articuler les assises théoriques de l’autorité enseignante, à travers l’approfondissement de la dimension « avoir » dans une perspective clinique de sensibilité psychanalytique, et ses répercussions sur son exercice effectif. La vignette clinique proposée montre comment Sébastien s’efforce d’« avoir » de l’autorité en tant qu’enseignant, bien qu’il valorise une posture d’éducateur et qu’il entretienne des relations de dépendance charismatique avec ses élèves. Cette situation met en relief l’importance de la fonction de tiers, qui renvoie aux problématiques du non négociable de l’autorité enseignante et du cadre éducatif.
