International audienceFrance’s territorial organisation is at the heart of institutional territorialisation, whether in terms of the role of different levels of local authorities or processes such as decentralisation. This paper studies the place of these elements in the French secondary school curricula, in particular in « Moral and Civic Education » and in History-Geography. It reveals that French territorial organisation is given very little prominence, if not almost none at all. It is mentioned in three grades, 3 and 2 in EMC and terminale in HG, but often with restricted timetables or as an optional subject. It may, but need not, be addressed in a number of other chapters.
