Serving the students of EMU from 1979 until her retirement in 2004, Nancy Halmhuber-Navarre advocated for many changes in the teaching of exceptional students, was recognized for excellence and instruction and authored A Century of Excellence with Lynn Rockledge, the history of the EMU Department of Special Education.
