The Sustainable Development Division of IIE has been defining and refining its body of knowledge framework since its recent founding. By incorporating frameworks and thoughts from professional and governmental organizations, as well as from research and industry, the leadership team of the Sustainable Development Division proposes a framework to define its body of knowledge within the Industrial Engineering universe. A variety of sustainability constructs including but not limited to triple-bottom-line, circles of sustainability, applications of lean systems methods in environmental improvement, kaizen, etc., are discussed and integrated to create a new proposed body of knowledge framework for the Sustainable Development Division of IIE.</p
