Entrepreneurship modelling and rural development

Entrepreneurship is considered a dynamo for economic development. Certainly it has arise also thebelief that it might be useful to foster social development in deprived communities. This assumption ischallenged through a research done in central Mexico. Nine different entrepreneurship models arerecognized. Entrepreneurship programs from two different rural communities in the state ofGuanajuato are analyzed also from a community viewpoint. Among the findings of this project,probably the most promising is to recognize that individual economic development and communitysocial development are not as linked as we suspected initially. They seem to be subjects from differentdomains. A proposal to increase the life quality for future generations on rural communities ispresented. It is centered on creating and maintaining self-organized web-based networks.
