The topic I chose to teach was about the Wellness Wheel and how to set SMART goals. The lesson involved students using the wellness wheel to find their level of wellness in different areas of life, followed by their using that information to set a goal that is specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, and time frame specific (SMART). According to Burning (2013), “entering college is one of life’s major events” and adjusting to college includes development within realms such as academic, emotional, and social (p. 29).
