Besoins éducatifs particuliers, accès aux savoirs et à la qualification : quelle perception de leur prise en compte personnelle effective par les élèves ?

International audienceOn the basis of an ethical questioning, this research studies the consideration of disability in education, precisely through the experiences of young people with cognitive disabilities aged 10 to 18. Twenty-seven students participated in this study, which was conducted using biographical accounts. They were enrolled in a so-called “ordinary” school, a localized unit for inclusive education (ULIS) or a medico-educational institute (IME). The study found that 14 of the youths interviewed felt a real“sense of justice” (they think to have been personally considered and treated appropriately), but 13 of the participants felt that they had been treated unfairly, at least in part. These results allowed us to clarify and inflect the notion of school equity (or “justice”) on the initial basis of the work of Nussbaum (2007, 2011) and Fraser (2011).Sur la base d’un questionnement éthique, cette recherche étudie la prise en compte du handicap dans l’éducation, précisément à travers les éprouvés de jeunes porteurs de handicap cognitif âgés de 10 ans à 18 ans. 27 élèves ont participé à cette étude, conduite à partir de récits biographiques. Ils étaient scolarisés en école dite ordinaire, en Unité localisée pour l’inclusion scolaire (Ulis) ou en Institut médico-éducatif (IME). L’étude met en évidence que 14 des adolescents interrogés éprouvent un véritable « sentiment de justice » (le fait d’avoir été personnellement pris en compte, et d’avoir été correctement traités), mais que 13 des participants ont éprouvé, ne serait-ce qu’en partie, l’impression d’avoir été traités de façon inéquitable. Ces résultats nous ont permis de préciser et d’infléchir la notion d’équité (ou de « justice ») scolaire sur le fond initial des travaux de Nussbaum (2007, 2011) et Fraser (2011)
