ANÁLISIS SOBRE LA IDENTIDAD UNIVERSITARIA EN POBLACIÓN EGRESADA DE UNA INSTITUCIÓN MEXICANA DE EDUCACIÓN SUPERIOR

This research sought to characterize the university identity of a group of graduates of a Mexican institution of higher education focused on professional educational training. The research was descriptive, the approach and methodology was qualitative in order to understand and interpret the reality from the context of study, as well as the emotions and the nature of the personal experiences of the students. The sample consisted of a total of 9 participants; 8 women and 1 man. The inclusion criteria were that they belonged to the school system and to one of the degree programs with the highest enrollment (Educational Psychology, Pedagogy and Educational Administration), that their period of graduation was not longer than one year, that they came from the evening shift and that their participation was voluntary. Nine in-depth interviews were conducted and analyzed through 6 categories of analysis: institution, academic life, university identity, sense of belonging, identity elements and spaces. The results identified that the university identity is in the process of formation due to changes in the mission and vision of the university, the lack of intra and extra-mural dissemination of the institution’s work, as well as the lack of strengthening of a professional identity that contributes to the prestige of the institution of higher education.La presente investigación buscó caracterizar la identidad universitaria que tenía un grupo de personas egresadas de una institución mexicana de educación superior enfocada en la formación profesional educativa. La investigación fue descriptiva, el enfoque y la metodología fue cualitativa para comprender e interpretar la realidad desde el contexto de estudio, así como las emociones y la naturaleza de las experiencias personales del estudiantado. La muestra quedó conformada por un total de 9 participantes; 8 mujeres y 1 hombre. Los criterios de inclusión fueron que pertenecieran al sistema escolarizado y a una de las licenciaturas con mayor matrícula (Psicología Educativa, Pedagogía y Administración Educativa), que su período de egreso no fuera mayor a un año, provenir del turno vespertino y que su participación fuera voluntaria. Se realizaron y analizaron 9 entrevistas a profundidad mediante 6 categorías de análisis: institución, vida académica, identidad universitaria, sentido de pertenencia, elementos identitarios y espacios.
