Background and objective: There is a paucity of mental health hospital-based studies from Pakistan that have observed the contributing factors of dropout. This study aims to understand contributing factors to dropouts from mental health services. Method: This telephonic survey was conducted as a cross-sectional study from dropout outpatients of Karwan-e-Hayat Institute for Mental Health Care, a tertiary mental care hospital in Karachi, Pakistan. Using a simple questionnaire to assess socio-demographic variables, psychosocial assessment, and patient perspectives on treatment termination.
