This article examines the People's Republic of China's (PRC's) economic and political relations with Zimbabwe and suggests the future course of their relationship. Essentially, it is predicted that Beijing will continue to develop economic ties with Zimbabwe at a relatively low level and view Zimbabwe as a useful friend entailing minimal costs or commitments, thus maintaining a mutually satisfactory state-to-state relationship.</p
