This program celebrates the enormous appeal of baroque music and the genius of its most beloved composer, Johann Sebastian Bach. Composer of both sacred and secular music, Bach's musical legacy, through his compositions, has endured for over 300 years. Although his genius went unrecognized in his own lifetime (some of his works languished unperformed for 100 years after his death), his music was studied by famous composers including Mozart, Mendelssohn, and Brahms.
