IntroductionFourteen million colonoscopies are performed annually in the United States, with the results dependent on bowel preparation before the procedure. However, suitable preparation is neglected in 20–25% of cases, resulting in increased loss of time, failure to diagnose, procedure repetition, and decreased patient satisfaction.
