Skin diseases in dogs are very often the reason for visiting the veterinarian. For the successful management of a dermatological disease, accurate diagnosis, correct setting of the treatment and cooperation of the owner are necessary. This article provides a summary of information related to the diagnosis and treatment of skin diseases in dogs obtained from 50 veterinary facilities in Slovakia. In the monitored veterinary facilities, the most common dermatoses are skin diseases due to immune disorders, followed by bacterial and parasitic skin diseases.
