Esta tesis doctoral se centra en el aprendizaje matemático en niños con autismo desde dos enfoques: la resolución de problemas aritméticos verbales y el pensamiento funcional. Desde el primer enfoque, se describe la competencia matemática temprana y las estrategias de resolución de problemas aritméticos verbales, se establecen relaciones con características cognitivas del autismo y se evalúa la eficacia de una metodología basada en esquemas modificada para la enseñanza de resolución de problemas aditivos.
