This article discusses how the concepts of home and people were expressed in the rhetoric in the general election in Sweden 1921, when the right to vote and to run for parliament was extended to women as well. The Social Democrats Agda Östlund and Anna Johansson-Visborg stand out by describing the urban working-class home characterized by overcrowding and housing shortages. At the same time, they also have a utopian perspective, which, however, differs from the abstract idealization of the home by bourgeois rhetoric.
