The article analyzes the current state of pottery research in Serbia. The material studied is chiefly from the Middle Ages, and from the experiences we have so far certain recommendations for future interdisciplinary study of pottery technology can be drawn. On the basis of already conducted petrographic and physical-chemical analyses we point to a combination of methods which should provide optimal results. It is stated that in Serbia there are both good potential for such study and specific equipment for archaeometric analyses of pottery.
