Cross-Departmental Textiles Workshop

This was a cross-department event held at the Constance Howard Gallery on Wednesday 8th March. This workshop - open to everyone at Goldsmiths but notably from the departments of Visual Cultures, Art, and Design - was an opportunity to show and see projects with interests in textiles, collections and archives - to share practices, consider opportunities and meet people with related interests. The event had three components: (1) Practices, which involved 2 minute presentations from everyone accompanied by one slide of a work/process; (2) Contexts, during which the curator of the Goldsmiths Textile Collection and Constance Howard Gallery talked about the collection and gallery, including opportunities and existing partners for research; (3) Projects, where we discussed future interdepartmental and interdisciplinary collaborations
