Social Innovation, Social Entrepreneurship and Entrepreneurship Curriculum in the Hybrid Education Environment in Indonesia - Final Report

The broad purpose of the project was the advancement of curricular development, research, internationalization and knowledge exchange in the field of social innovation and social impact. It seeks to embed learning from previous projects (i.e. the SILKEN project) at an institutional level within Indonesian institutions. An overview of the work to be undertaken through this funding and how it fits into our wider plans re digital social innovation curricula is provided in Appendix A. Specifically, this project will support with:• Embedding social innovation in the Curriculum: to develop a social innovation seminar series that promotes the embedding of social innovation in postgraduate and undergraduate programmes. These activities will aim to create a social innovation mindset among academics and students, teach them new skills and enhance their employability. Through the Indonesian partners we will also promote academic collaboration in the design of a seminar series for social innovation – spreading best practice across the region.• Research: to develop models for action research and utilise these to develop a social impact measurement framework for measuring social innovation development within the curriculum (testing these with students in Indonesia).• Knowledge Exchange: promoting social innovation in curriculum development through introducing the concept in a seminar series. This seminar series is designed to improve collaboration, strengthen the wider ecosystem, and help drive policy toward greater social value creation. There will also be a focus on ensuring Knowledge Exchange between HEI leaders in the UK and Indonesia, to ensure top-down buy-in at institutions for social innovation. This seminar series will kickstart the development of the social innovation hybrid curriculum.• Internationalisation: using existing networks (SILKEN/GLOCAL), we will link into our wider work across the world including HE in Hong Kong (which is developing a stronger impact focus) and other regional partners as well as further afield, such as Latin America.
