Bu çalışma yarı nemli iklim koşullarında, damla sulama yöntemiyle sulanan şeker pancarı bitkisinde, su-verim ilişkilerinin belirlenmesi ve sulama zamanın planlanmasında bitki su stres indeksi kullanım olanaklarının araştırılması amacıyla 2019 yılı yetiştiricilik döneminde yürütülmüştür. Araştırmada 4 farklı sulama konusu oluşturulmuştur. Bu konulardan; S1: Gelişme dönemi boyunca her 7 günde bir 0–90 cm toprak derinliğinde tüketilen suyun tamamının, S2: S1 konusu için belirlenen su miktarının 2/3’ünün ve S3: S1 konusu için belirlenen su miktarının 1/3’ünün deneme parsellerine uygulandığı, S4 ise sulama suyu uygulanmayan (susuz) konu şeklinde oluşturulmuştur.
