Micrococcaceae familyasında yer alan Staphylococus cinsinin üyesi olan Staphylococcus aureus insanlarda gıda zehirlenmelerinde önemli mikroorganizmalardan biridir. Gıda işletmeleri ile kurumlara ait büyük mutfaklarda hijyen eksikliğinin göstergesi olarak kabul edilir.Materyal olarak; 31 adet şarküteri ürünü, 10 adet dondurulmuş hazır köfte, 5 adet dondurulmuş et döner, 30 adet hazır yemek, 25 adet yaş pasta, 45 adet peynir, 28 adet dondurma ve 16 adet sütlü tatlı olmak üzere toplam 190 örnek kullanılmıştır.S.aureus analizi için Baird Parker (Oxoid CM0275) Agar kullanılmıştır.
