The use of boron in animal nutrition

Bor insanlar ve hayvanlar için önemli bir iz elementtir. Bor elementinin insan ve hayvan dokularındaki biyokimyasal etki mekanizması tam olarak bilinmemekle beraber, cis-hidroksil grupları içeren bileşenlerle (şekerler, polisakkaritler vb) reaksiyona girerek hücre zarı fonksiyonları ve stabilitesinde rol alabileceği; hormon reseptörleri ve hücre membranları arası implusların iletiminde etkili olabileceği varsayılmaktadır. Bor’un mineral metabolizması, lipid metabolizması ve enerji metabolizmasında, immun sistem, endokrin sistem ve beyinde önemli fonksiyonları olduğu, performansı olumlu yönde etkilediği, osteoporoz, osteoartrit ve artritin önlenmesinde etkili olabileceği bildirilmektedir. Bor elementine daha çok kemik ve mineral metabolizması için ihtiyaç duyulmaktadır. Bu derlemede bor elementinin canlı metabolizma üzerindeki etkileri ve beslenme ile ilişkileri hipotezler ve araştırma sonuçları ile birlikte özetlenmiştir.Boron is an essential trace element for animals and human. Although the exact mechanism of action in tissues is not fully understood it is assumed to be reacted with components (such as sugars and polysaccharides) containing cis-hydrocsil groups and acts in cell membrane functions and stability as well as transfer of stimuli between cell membranes and hormone receptors. Boron is accepted to have functions in mineral metabolism, lipid metabolism, immune response, endocrine system and brain. The other side it has positive effects on performance and osteoporosis. Boron is primarily needed for mineral and bone metabolisms while biochemical mechanism have not been fully described. This review is summarized the effects of boron on living metabolism together with hypotheses and research results
