The use of didactic resources has facilitated the understanding of specific concepts and helped the teacher in the mediation of knowledge. This study aimed to verify the approach to Brazilian biodiversity and ethnobotany in Science textbooks for the final years of elementary school and to analyze the conception of Science teachers on the subject of ethnobotany and its application in teaching. The collections of Science textbooks between 2013 and 2018 were analyzed, and a questionnaire was applied to nine teachers who work in the Science area.
