This article focuses on the debates about the minimum attendance required to schools for having their results in the Brazilian educational assessments published, considering the effects of the growing use of census research on national studies. An indicator was developed based on the number of secondary schools that met the 80% student’s attendance required by Saeb/Ideb 2017. The analysis indicates that more than half of the participant schools did not have their results publicly available by the national assessment. A high variability was observed among the percentage of schools that reached the minimum criteria in each of Brazilian states (14% - 97%).
