Hubungan Perilaku Bullying dengan Kecerdasan Emosional pada Remaja di SMPN 17 Kota Jambi Tahun 2023

Background: Bullying is a phenomenon that is rampant in adolescene and mostly  occurs in school environments in Indonesia and Internationally. The existence of negative emotions that control themselves leads to a tendency to bully others. The impact of bullying for victims is that it can interfere with physical, psychological and mental health. Low emotional intelligence result in a lack of ability to control oneself so that the desire to dominate the weak and the victims carry out the bullying they have received on others with the aim of avenging them. This is due to the influence in the bullying behavior he received so that his emoyional intelligence is disturbed and encourages someone to commit bullying behavior. Objectives: To know the relationship between bullying behavior and emotional intelligence in adolescents at SMPN 17 Jambi City in 2023. Methods: This study is correlational analysis technique. The sample in this study amounted to 99 respondents who were taken using propotional sampling method. Result: The result showed that there was a significant relationship between bullying behavior and emotional intelligence in adolescents at SMPN 17 Jambi City. These result are evidenced by the acquisition of significance value of p-value of 0,000 < 0,05 and a coefficient (r) of -0,558. Conclusion: based on the results of the study, there is a significant relationship between bullying behavior and emotional intelligence in adolescents at SMPN 17 Jambi City
