Cardiac fibrosis is a prevalent pathological complication observed in individuals with diabetes. Diallyl trisulfide (DATS), a bioactive compound found in garlic oil, has been reported to exhibit anti-inflammatory and anti-apoptotic effects in various cardiovascular diseases. However, its potential impact on cardiac fibrosis, particularly in the context of diabetes, remains unknown.
