BACKGROUND: The brachial-ankle pulse-wave velocity (baPWV) is regarded as the gold standard in the evaluation of arterial stiffness. Its prognostic significance for major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE) has been demonstrated. However, the factors influencing the association between baPWV and MACE risk have not been determined.
