SUBORDINATE OBJECT CLAUSES WITH NON-FINITE VERB FORMS IN ENGLISH AND ALBANIAN

In this paper we aim to provide a context for understanding some practical syntactical issues, hoping that we will somehow help English teaching in our classrooms. Sentence analysis brings about the growth of students’ knowledge of syntactical issues and enables them to compare English sentence structures with the structures of their mother tongue, Albanian and those of other languages as well. We try to identify and analyze similarities and differences of the complex sentences with non-finite object clauses in English with those of the Albanian language. In this paper there will be presented various examples from different sources. These sentences will be compared so that their morphological and syntactical characteristics can be identified.Keywords: Complex Sentence, Object Clause, Verb, Non-finite verb form, subordinator
