Cempedak leaves (Artocarpus champeden) as anti-bacterial and antioxidant face mask

Face masks that are popular today are peel off gel face masks because they are easy to apply and easy to remove or lift like an elastic membrane and can repair and treat facial skin from wrinkles, aging, and acne problems. A good mask is a mask that is rich in antioxidants, because antioxidants can protect the body from free radicals caused by UV exposure. Antioxidant content can be found in flavonoid compounds in cempedak leaves. Therefore, research is needed on compounds in cempedak leaves to prove that the antioxidants contained can be considered effective in making anti-aging peel off gel masks and research on ethanol extract of cempedak leaves is needed against acne-causing bacteria (Propionibacterium acnes). The methods used in this study were phytochemical tests, antibacterial tests, and the formulation of peel off gel face masks. Based on research that has been done, the ethanol extract of cempedak leaves contains alkaloids, flavonoids and tannins. This content is strengthened by the FTIR analysis. Cempedak leaf extract has an inhibitory power against Propionibacterium acnes bacteria so it can be ensured that it is safe in making peel off gel face masks because it has antibacterial properties against acne-causing bacteria. Based on the research data that has been carried out, cempedak leaves can potentially become a peel off gel face mask that can be used and marketed
