Tire and road wear microplastics (TRWMPs) in road dust are a key source of atmospheric particulate matter and have an adverse impact on human health and the environment. In this study, samples of particulate matter with a diameter of 2.5 mu m or less (PM2.5) in road dust were collected from eight megacities in China to determine the TRWMP content, including that of natural rubber (NR), styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR), and butadiene rubber (BR).
