Unplanned maintenance actions entail a period of inactivity of wind turbines and therefore a loss of revenues. This is even more pronounced in the case of offshore wind farms because of difficulties in access. To this end, condition monitoring (or health monitoring) systems have been implemented on wind turbines by manufacturer to support maintenance decision making by operators. However, a major concern with using condition monitoring is the creation of false positives. In this paper, we have considered how SCADA data may be used to support reliability and maintainability models.
