Pengaruh perlakuan bleaching terhadap perubahan warna dan sifat finishing kayu pinus (Pinus sp.) terserang blue stain. (Effect of bleaching treatment to color change and finishing properties of pine wood (Pinus sp.) attacked by blue stain)

Pine (Pinus sp.) wood has been popular and widely used as raw material for furniture industry due its unique characteristics compared to other wood species. However, the weakness of pine wood is its easily attacked by blue stain that caused blue, gray, or black stain on wood surface. To solve this problem, one of alternative solution is wood bleaching treatment. The aim of this research was to investigate the effect of bleaching treatment using sodium hypoclorite 25% on colour change and finishing properties of pine wood attacked by blue-stain. Bleaching treatment was carried out at several ratio of sodium hypoclorite 25% : water (v/v), at 1:1; 2:1; and 1:2 ratio. The results showed that bleaching treatment were very low on affected wood color change. The glossy test of 2:1 ratio wood bleached were higher than other ratio.
