The aim of this study was to explore the arterial wall dynamics in an attempt to demonstrate premature atherosclerosis and arterial stiffening. Methods: A dedicated motion capture (MOCAP) framework was developed based on Matlab® using a cross correlation algorithm for block matching. Results: This study demonstrated that longitudinal and radial movements decreased according to age. 60 healthy carotids were assessed using our motion tracking algorithm. The subjects were divided into three age groups; group 1: subjects younger than 35, group 2: 35 to 50, group 3: subjects over 50.
