BackgroundEmerging evidence has demonstrated that PIWI-interacting RNAs (piRNAs) play important roles in various physiological processes and contribute to cancer progression. Moreover, piRNAs and PIWI protein levels are associated with the prognosis and chemoresistance of various cancers.
