In recent years, we observe an increase in the importance of organic production in the world. Until recently, this trend was observed only in highly developed countries now many producers of organic food comes from Asia and Africa. These changes have their base mainly on the demand for organic products and the increasing level of education concerning environmental protection and food security. The following paper presents the state of development of organic farming in the world based on data from international environmental organizations.
