Las especies forestales con fines alimenticios juegan un papel fundamental en la alimentacion de las poblaciones rurales del Africa subsahariana en periodos de carencia. Es importante conocer como es la relacion entre la gestion de estas especies y las caracteristicas socioeconomicas de la poblacion para poder establecer un modelo de gestion sostenible de estos recursos forestales que tenga presente a la poblacion local.
