There have been changes in the Chinese grain economy in recent years which have significant ramifications for China's domestic and international grain demand and supply. This paper surveys some of the major changes in the Chinese grain economy since 1990 and points out current difficulties and emerging problems in the reforms of the Chinese grain economy.
