Where are we now and where to next?:A strategic pause amongst the reflective practice literature in sport and exercise

When compared to that of sport psychology and sport coaching for some SES and related allied disciplines there remains less discipline specific literature to draw upon with regards to RP. This may lead to the discipline, or individuals within, having a sense of feeling alone, lost, or confused when it comes to trying to understand RP in one's relevant context. Therefore, an invitation for additional RP literature in less mature disciplinary areas, such as CEP, physical activity, nutrition, physiology, biomechanics, and sports therapy is made. This invitation is presented with the aims of extending the RP community, developing our knowledge and understanding of RP, and exploring how we, collectively as reflective practitioners, can continue to be more effective in our respective roles. In addition, the current chapter also presents new developments and areas of exploration within the SES literature, including RP use for personal well-being and self-care, a focus on the athlete as a reflective 'practitioner', and a summary of the most recently utilised RP methods.
