Social innovation (SI) is increasingly attracting the interest of scholars, institutions, and practitioners due to its potential to tackle societal challenges. Literature on the topic appears highly fragmented and scattered among different fields of research. In the attempt of systematizing contributions sofar published, we’ve performed a systematic literature review with the aim to enhance our comprehension about ecosystems facilitating social innovative activities. In doing so, we describe the key attributes and features of the context and the conditions under which SI is developed
