"Bangladeshi NGOs, Mennonite Central Committee Bangladesh, Mirpur Wheatstraw Center, and Jagorani Center, all promote women's handcraft production in rural areas through the establishment of the association of producers, quality control and marketing of the products, and technical training for the producers to improve products. The RAKS Thai Foundation assists the women in Northeastern Thai to advance the production of traditional handcrafts with the methods of organizing producers and transferring production technology to them after a careful feasibility study on various traditional arts. Shapla Neer, a Japanese NGO working for Bangladesh, promotes the activity of income generation in rural areas by forming a communal group for mutual help and giving literacy education to the group for operating a system of lending a small amount of money to the members from their common deposit reserved by the members regularly.
