Swahili men sit on woven mats in the Lamu Square to play a game known as bao la komwe, similar to another African game called mankala that has made its way to the West. The mahogany game boards are carved by Swahili woodworkers and seeds (komwe) are used as playing pieces.https://digitalcommons.iwu.edu/sea/1001/thumbnail.jp
