Managing the Unmanageable Classroom

One question all first year teachers are faced with is what kind of classroom management strategies they should use in their classroom. This research study looks at approaches to classroom management of several different 5th grade teachers. Classes were observed, student surveys were conducted, and teachers were interviewed in order to have a better understanding of these approaches. Based on previous research studies as well as this one, there are two main forms of classroom management strategies: preemptive and reactionary.
