Ein grundlegender Aspekt des Ingenieurwesens ist das Verständnis von Materialversagen. Diese Dissertation konzentriert sich auf die Modellierung und Simulation von Materialversagen, insbesondere beim maschinellen Abbau von Gestein. Die peridynamische Kontinuumstheorie wird angewendet und weiterentwickelt, wobei der Schwerpunkt auf der Bewertung des Einflusses des peridynamischen Horizonts auf die Wellenausbreitung und den dynamischen Bruch liegt. Darüber hinaus wird das Modell erweitert, um Szenarien mit Druckversagen in porösen und heterogenen Materialien zu erfassen.
