This PhD thesis, produced on the research line of epistemological decoloniality, transgressive education and transformation practices from the Post Graduate Program in Education from the Federal University of Pelotas, sustains the premise that Deaf schools fulfills the role of launching students into the world, but weakens as a school when it is marked primarily by the identity marks of the deaf community and limits its responsibility to introduce the world to students to what is restricted to this community.
