This study will achieve the above goal through a comparative analysis of seven Carceral Firefighting programs from the following states: Arizona, California, Colorado, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Washington. The analysis will focus on several key items, including, but not limited to the number of program participants, level of training, whether they live in camps or stay in the prison.
