The purpose of this study is to determine if the progress-monitoring program, Accelerated Reader (AIMSweb), will accurately monitor students' progress over the course of eight weeks allowing the teacher to focus on the specific needs of the students. The research utilized a quantitative research design. The study was conducted in a small rural elementary school in the Northeastern part of Wisconsin. Participants were monitored weekly using the AIMSweb progress monitoring system. Findings suggested that there is a correlation between progress monitoring and teachers decision-making during instruction.
