The idea for this work comes from observing the reaction of fifth grade students to the reproduction of a complex geometric figure. This represents a flower, commonly called a rosette, but with eight petals. After an in-depth state of the art in the field of geometry and the reproduction of geometric figures, I wondered how cycle 3 students would react to the reproduction of this same figure: the flower. I wanted to particularly observe the benefit of offering such an activity to get the best teaching benefits from it. I carried out my experiment in a CM1 and CM2 class in two sessions.
